My husband, Kevin, is having a lot of fun getting trunks from Nordstrom’s online personal styling service, Trunk Club. I introduced him to the service, even though I hadn’t loved the items I received in my own trunks. I actually stopped requesting trunks because I was so disappointed with the trunks. When Kevin started the service, he was assigned the same stylist who packed my trunks. She picked out very nice pieces for him! I loved everything she sent him! So, I decided to request another trunk to see if my luck improved. See what I received below!
Here’s how Trunk Club works:
- You’ll take a brief survey about your style, sizes, and spending preferences to help connect you with the right stylist.
- He or she will contact you to learn more about what you’re looking for, and then send a preview of clothes they think are a good fit.
- They will send you a trunk of clothes and you have five days to decide what to keep or return.
- Log onto the website to give feedback on the items in your trunk
- Return the items you don’t want to keep (free shipping and UPS pick up from your house).
Michael Kors Gloria Square Toe Pump – $144.95
These shoes are really cute and very comfortable! The low block heels are all the trend right now. These will be very good for work outfits. I’m such a weirdo, though. The shiny gold buckle (they are waaaayyy too shiny!) and the patent leather of the shoe is just to much for me. The shoes are blindingly bright to me and I don’t want to keep them. Status: Returned
Hudson Suki LaceUp Ankle Skinny Jeans- $265
Boy do I love these jeans! They are white! I know that, traditionally, white is not supposed to be worn after Labor Day. But, I’m seeing lots of style bloggers style white denim this season. The white is more subtle when paired with neutrals like tan or grey. I love the lace at the top and bottom of the sides, another detail that is very much on trend right now. I want to keep these jeans, which fit very nicely on me, but I have A RULE OF ONLY KEEPING ONE ITEM in a box and there is another item here that I desperately need. So… Status: Returned
Trouve Metallic One Shoulder Top – $59
A nice party piece. I know that the ‘one shoulder’ style will be replacing the whole off the shoulder/cold shoulder trend. This would be a good item to keep, then. But, too bad that my night life isn’t more active! Unfortunately, I don’t have any place to wear this — it would gather dust in my closet. Status: Returned
Kate Spade Blot Dot Swing Top- $248
love, Love, LOVE this top from Kate Spade! I love the swing style of the top – it goes very nicely with skinnies and leggings. I’m not at all a fan of the blot pattern. It reminds me of cow spots. I can’t get over that and decide not to keep it. Plus, there is another item in the box that I desperately need… Status: Returned
Diane von Furstenberg Saylor Silk Peasant Blouse – $298
Sanctuary Grease Leggings – $79
A very lovely blouse from DVF, one of my favorite designers! I would get a lot of wear out of this, as it’s good to wear to work or for a night out with Kevin. I love the tassel detail — it adds a little fun to the top. Unfortunately, I have to pass this up at this time. Status: Returned
The leggings are pretty straightforward. I like the Sanctuary brand and can rent bottoms from them and similar brands from Le Tote. No need to buy here. Status: Returned
Sanctuary Hanna Split Neck Knit Top – $59
Another items from the Sanctuary brand. I actually purchase a similar Sanctuary top last month from my Bungalow Clothing box, except it was sleeveless. I do like the mixed media style — knit fabric in on the body and sleeves and sheer material at the tail. This top is nice, but it’s not special enough to deter me from my mission… Status: Returned
Pleione Stripe Knit Bell Sleeve Top – $49.00
I like this top. The bell sleeves, which are very much in right now, make this more than a basic item. This is good to dress up or down with accessories and the right bottom choices. BUT, I’m sure I’ll see similar tops in other boxes I receive. Status: Returned
Nike Air Max 90 Ultra 2.0 Sneaker – $120.00
I’m working out more than I ever have… even going to the gym 3 – 4 times a week. I tried on these sneakers and thought they were the most comfortable pair of sneakers I’ve worn that I can remember! There is serious cushion in these babies! I like the breathable mesh in front. And, to top it all off… they look great! I have dogged my current pair of sneakers with all the running I do and am in desparate need for these pair. It’s a no brainer that I have to keep these. Status: Kept
So, I was impressed with my stylist picks for me in Box #4. It’s taken us a while, but maybe we are starting to gel. I’ll try another Trunk next month!
Let me know what you think about this latest trunk!
