(Rent the Runway) April 2017 + Le Tote/Rocksbox: Interesting Patterns and Shapes

(Rent the Runway) April 2017 + Le Tote/Rocksbox: Interesting Patterns and Shapes

I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone with some of the rentals from Rent The Runway and Le Tote this month.  I would never consider wearing some of these patterns and I’m glad to have these rental services that allow me to try different things.

Check out some of the outfits that I’ve been wearing this month.  Let me know what you think!

Marni Black Floral Printed Top (RTW).  Retail: $1,300

I love this top from Marni.  It’s edgy and bold, even with the floral print.  The box fit is right on trend right now, too!  The material is heavy.  You can see the snow on the ground — I wore this out to dinner and a movie with my husband and didn’t need a coat.  The top worked perfectly with my red cords that I purchased from Stitch Fix.  This turned out to be one of my favorite outfits this year!

Giamba Sherbert Jacket (RTW).  Retail: $1,745

It took all the confidence I could muster to wear this jacket.  I kept coming back to it on the RTW site.  This jacket screams “look at me”, and that’s just not my personality.  But, I decided to wear this to an R&B concert with my husband.  It was tricky because it rained that night, but the jacket held up well. It kept me warm and didn’t get too soggy in the weather.  The floral panel on the coat is really interesting and a stark contrast from the design of the jacket itself.   I kept the rest of the outfit pretty basic because the jacket IS the outfit. I definitely turned heads and am glad I had the confidence to wear it.

Marni Geometric Block Print Dress (RTW).  Retail: $1,968

Elizabeth and James Embry Blazer (RTW).  Retail: $545

A nice work outfit, and I was glad to pick an outfit that had some color. I typically wear black or gray to work. This dress was comfortable to wear and I liked having the nice blazer to pull on and off as needed.  The dress is a little boxy, not as form-fitting as I would like, so I added the belt.  On my list to rent again!

Max Studio Poncho Sweater (LT).  Retail: $98

Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace (RB). Retail: $80

What an interesting sweater!  So much fun to wear!  I love the asymmetrical fit and design.  And, this can easily be dressed up or down.  Here, I ran errands and had a casual dinner out with the hubby.  The necklace is nice too, heavier and bigger than I thought it would be. But it works well here.  This outfit is another of my favorites from recent rentals.

Perry Street Salma Statement Necklace (RB).  Retail: $90

Sophie Harper Pave Sol Studs (RB). Retail: $45

I was happy to rent these pieces from Rocks Box. The necklace worked very nicely over a casual black top and the earrings are just cute.  I hardly ever wear studs, so this was a nice departure for me.
